Caps Strike to CFP

Our research work ranges from fundamental lightning physics to solving real world engineering challenges across a broad spectrum of industry sectors. Our principal focus is in lightning interactions with and protection of the current and next generation of composite aerospace materials and structures. We work closely with a number of academic partner institutions worldwide, and welcome new research collaborations.

The School of Engineering regularly provides opportunities for PhD study within the Morgan-Botti Lightning Laboratory. Upon request, students completing other undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications may use the laboratory to carry out research experiments.

Current undergraduate students at Cardiff can also undertake summer placements through the research opportunities programme (CUROP).
